Christian Radio in Madagascar
One of the objectives of the HCJB World Radio
Engineering Center is to help national Christians reach
their own people. The following letter received this
past month illustrates the difficulties and rewards of
helping our fellow believers:
Dear Mr. Cummings, and all those at HCJB who were in
the least bit involved in the Radio Andrea project in
Madagascar [ed. note: including those who help
support the Anderson’s ministry],
We recently received the transmitter and antenna
safely thanks to MAF (Missionary Aviation Fellowship)
here in Antsohihy. They were brought in on a special
flight from Antananarivo, the capital. There were
four parcels, and everything seems in good order.
All the equipment first had to be approved by the
government, and so was kept back to be tested, but
they eventually approved it, and have authorised us
to install it. Apparently their technicians had
trouble checking the transmitter as they never have
seen such sophistication.
We feel we must share two miracles with you. First of
all, at customs we were charged 8000 USD import
duties on the equipment. One of our committee
members, who works in the Ministry of Finance (Mr
Totolahitsara, Chef de Logistique), after spending
several days doing paperwork and travelling
constantly between the Ministry and the airport,
obtained total tax exemption.
Secondly, the government almost confiscated the
material. There is a lot of political underflow at
the moment, and potential tribal conflict, and they
almost did not allow us to continue with the station.
Reasons were not clear but it seems political. Again
God did an amazing miracle, just showing He
initiated, and controls, this project. Our friend in
the Ministry was able to convince them to return the
equipment and issue license that we were already
granted two years ago.
The reason for this letter is to thank you for this
enormous investment in God's Kingdom. It is
impossible to express our gratitude in words, but we
sincerely trust that we will one day be able to
inform you of how many unbelievers have found the
Lord, and how many Christians' lives were edified and
changed through the programmes.

Ugandan Christian Radio
African Bible College has been working for five years
to see God open the door for a new Christian radio
station in Uganda. What a privilege HCJB World Radio
had in helping to install the new FM station in the
capitol city of Kampala.
The new radio station is situated on the college
campus, and is operated by college graduates in
broadcasting.
The life expectancy of Ugandan men is only 44 years
old. Not a week goes by that the newspaper
doesn’t report thousands of people dying from
AIDS, cholera, meningitis, plague, typhoid fever and
malaria.
When it came to helping millions in poverty, we were
limited in resources. When it came to their eternity,
we helped in a small way through the airwaves to give
them hope that’s only found in Christ, our
Savior.

broadcast from the new FM radio station in Uganda.

Family News
Dan and Barb Travel to Argentina
During spring break, we (Dan and Barb) traveled to the
Word of Life Bible Institute near Buenos Aires,
Argentina, to visit Jenny, who is beginning her third
year of Bible and theology studies. We had a wonderful
time meeting her friends and enjoying a refreshing time
of vacation.
Word of Life, Argentina, has a tremendous ministry
teaching young people God’s Word and how to serve
Him. We were impressed by the faculty and students and
their commitment to the Lord.
Dan was able to help troubleshoot a couple of computers
and spoke to a Word of Life senior high youth group
about getting involved in missions. Barb ministered
with her flute at the local evangelical church on
Sunday morning. Getting out into another culture and
seeing the enthusiasm of the students and local
believers, encouraged and inspired us to carry on with
the Lord’s work.
Jenny (21) was a camp counselor for
seven weeks in January and February at Word of Life in
Argentina. She had an exhausting, but rewarding
“summer” with 6-8 girls in her group each
week. She plans to complete her third year at the Bible
Institute in December and will return to the States for
more training as she contemplates full-time Christian
service.
Barb and Emily (19) had the
opportunity to get involved in the ministry of the
Engineering Center by helping inspect and test the
first 1,000 fixed-tuned, solar-powered radio receivers
that arrived in January. These receivers, now known as
“SonSet Radios”, will be distributed to
listeners like the man pictured on the front page of
this newsletter so that they can hear their local
Christian radio station. The receivers are pretuned to
receive up to five partner stations in an area.
John (16) has taken a break from his
work at a local pet and garden shop to play on his
school’s golf team again. He is also looking at
colleges, especially those that have an animal science
program.
Financial Update
We are thankful that our ministry account ended 2006 in
the black and that we received support increases from
several donors. However, we still need to find new
supporters since our account has been in the red again
since February. Please pray for us as we share the
ministry of HCJB World Radio with others and give them
the opportunity to participate with us in the ministry.
Monthly support still needed: $1082
Thank you!
Our most sincere thanks goes out to all who are
faithful in their financial and prayer support for our
ministry. We regard each one as a vital partner in
Heralding Christ
Jesus’
Blessings around the world.
